Amazing worship!

What do you get when you put a rockin' worship band, 1000+ high school students & 300+ small group leaders in one room? AMAZING WORSHIP!!!

Fee Band is currently one of my favorite Christian bands, not just because they're local. The words of their songs speak right to my heart; they get through all of the crap & really hit my soul. It is often that while listening to one of their songs God speaks to me. Music causes me to be still & really listen to what He has to say to me.

Last weekend our church hosted the annual MyLife weekend for high schools students from all 3 campuses (Browns Bridge, North Point & Buckhead). I've never been to MyLife, but my husband has. He always comes back exhausted & without a voice, but recharged by the connection he made with God and his high school boys.

Saturday night, the kids & I 'sneaked' into church to watch Fee perform. I'll admit it - I'm a groupie! Justin complained that it was too loud (he was tired). Chelsea really got into & started worshiping & raising her hands. That itself warmed my heart.

But the view from below was incredible! Hundreds of high schoolers & their leaders just worshiping God. Not caring what the person next to them would think about them. For that moment, these kids just let go.


I feel so blessed that we attend a church that our kids love to go to. They look forward to waking up on Sunday mornings. They WANT to go to church. For me & Craig, that is refreshing because we certainly were not like that at their age (at least I know I wasn't).

This weekend is Walking Wisely Weekend for the middle school students. Chelsea will be going. I'm bummed that I won't be there, but cannot wait to hear about her experience!! I pray that God will meet her in that place and speak to her heart.

Words cannot express...

This post had a TOTALLY different direction when I started. I was going to write about the wonderful time we had at Classic Christmas at Browns Bridge Community Church last night. I wanted to talk about the musicians that shared their talented with us, so I started looking online for their individual websites. But then, God changed my plans.

Casey Darnell was one of the 6 musicians that performed last night. As I perused the internet looking for his website, I stumbled across this nugget of beauty.



The sound quality is terrible, but it's what's going on in the front row that speaks volumes to my heart. On the Front row...witness 2 guys worshiping their hearts out to the song "Mighty to Save" being lead at Buckhead Church by Casey Darnell and Carlos Whittaker. One of the guys on the front row has severe Cerebral Palsy... in order for him to stand on his own, the other guy is holding him up so they can STAND and worship together.

It reminds me of our relationship with God. When we can't stand, God is there to lift us up.

Take my life

Again with the music.

Worship is my FAVORITE way to commune with God. It seems as though it's been His favorite lately too! I get so much out of the songs I sing to Him.

Each Sunday, we go to our church, worshiping our Heavenly Father, & hearing His word. I love the worship at Browns Bridge. The musicians are SO talented and the lyrics are powerful. Every so often there is a song that seems like it's being sung just for me. Today was that day.

I'm in a transition right now. Mainly a job transition, but really looking at it, it's a LIFE transition. I'm not sure where He wants me. I look to Him daily for what His plan may be. Some days I can clearly hear His voice and some days I wonder what I'm missing.

Singing "Take My Life" by Chris Tomlin today just was a way I could surrender my will over to God. The words are exactly what I want to say to Him.

Here am I, All of me.
Take my life, It's all for thee.

I want Him to take my life and use it for HIS will - not mine. It's become such a personal song to me. A prayer. A promise.

I don't know what He has in store for me, but I cannot wait to see where He leads me. No matter what it is, I know that it will be for His glory - not mine. That's the way I want it - and the way it should be.

Praising my Father

As an early anniversary gift, I got Craig tickets to the North Point Live taping. This is the 3rd time they've done this. We went to the first one and had a BLAST. This time we were worshipping with some of our favorites from church: Fee Band, Eddie Kirkland & Todd Fields. All I can say is - AMAZING!

There were thousands of people for this sold-out event! I think it was probably a compilation of all 3 campuses and a few extra invited friends. The music was ROCKIN'! What a way to worship our Heavenly Father. To be there, in the midst of His presence, you couldn't help but get caught in the moment. Hands lifted to Heaven, voices singing His praises. Words cannot describe the event. Honestly.

Fee Band did some songs from their new yet-to-be-released album. Let me say - OUTSTANDING!! Another Ahrens favorite! Eddie Kirkland & Todd Fields did a few of their new ones too. Oh, to sing to the Father. Of all the songs we sang, only 1 was not written by someone on that stage. Our churches are blessed with spectacular musical talent - all who use their gift to glorify our God.

We didn't just sing. We stopped to pray. Thanking God for all that He's done in our lives & the church for the past 1 & 1/2 years. I know Craig & I had a LOT to thank Him for. Then we prayed for the recording - that it reaches those outside the Alpharetta area. Powerful!!

Fee Band closed the evening. It was SO great to see so many teens rush the stage and just dance & jump to the music. Arms held high, glorifying God.

I can't wait for the CD to be released. I have a feeling that it's going to be Christmas gifts for family & friends.

Night of Worship

If you are in the ATL area on Thursday, July 23rd, stop by Browns Bridge Community Church in Cumming for their third Night of Worship in 2009 from 7:30p to 9:00p. Join us for a time of music, communion, and prayer. There is no cost for Night of Worship.

In the midst of my Father

I tend to be a person who expresses themselves through music. Especially when it comes to my faith. Showing my Heavenly Father just how much I love him without worrying about others around me.

Thursday night was just that time. Our church, Browns Bridge Community Church, did a Night of Worship; music, prayer & communion. I love my church - each Sunday I get fed. There's never any doubt that the Holy Spirit is in that place. But Thursday, that was just awe inspiring.

The music was outstanding. Typical of our church, but kicked up a few levels. Having the opportunity to pray with others around me for specific topics - that's new to the church. Gathering in small groups and just praying for the community, the church, & the country.

Tyler Reagin, works at the church, spoke and his words, while simple, were just SO on point. God isn't just something, He's EVERYTHING. He sent his Son to die for us - not because we are something, we're His EVERYTHING! Really put things into perspective for me.

To see hundreds of people taking communion together, most in tears & humbled in the presence of God. I had my own moment that night; a moment that brought me to tears. One that made me reevaluate my life and recommit to it.

Then to worship again - arms stretched out to God. You could feel His Spirit in that place. There was a heaviness yet you didn't feel oppressed by it... it was freeing. Just worshiping Him and thanking Him. Words alone just cannot describe it.

Friends, if you get the chance & you're in the Atlanta area for Easter, the next Night of Worship is April 10th. It's an event that you DON'T want to miss. Bring the kids, your neighbors or family. Go alone. I promise you will not be disappointed.
